The Challenge
A 12-clinic network had no mobile presence. Patients were booking by phone, losing paper records between visits, and missing medication schedules. The clinic also needed to reduce no-show rates, which were running at 28% and costing significant revenue.
Our Approach
- Patient Journey Mapping — Interviewed 30 patients across three clinics — ages 18 to 72. Mapped the entire journey from first symptom to post-visit follow-up. Identified 6 moments where anxiety or confusion was highest.
- FHIR Integration Design — Designed a clean abstraction layer on top of the clinic's HL7 FHIR API — handling versioning, error recovery, and offline-first sync so the UX felt seamless even on poor connections.
- Accessibility-First Build — Healthcare apps serve users of all ages and abilities. We built with WCAG AA compliance from the start — large touch targets, high-contrast modes, and voice-over optimization for visually impaired users.
Core Features
- Smart Appointment Booking — Real-time slot availability across all 12 clinics, with doctor filtering, specialty search, and auto-reminders 24h and 2h before visits.
- Digital Health Record — Full visit history, lab results, prescriptions, and vaccination records in one secure, searchable timeline.
- Medication Reminders — Prescription-synced reminders with dosage instructions, refill alerts, and family member medication tracking.
- Biometric Security — Face ID and fingerprint auth with an encrypted local vault — health data stays on device until explicitly synced.
